Terms & Conditions

Within these Terms & Conditions, the following terms have the meanings indicated:
- Ad = your pixel-image for display on the World-of-Pixels home page;
- Logo = your business logo for display in the Business Directory;
- Directory = the World-of-Pixels Business Directory;
- Block = 10x10 pixel square containing 100 pixels;
- Linking Website = the website linked to your pixel-image Ad;
- Slogan = the message displayed when the mouse rests on your pixel-image Ad.
The minimum purchase is a single Block of 100 pixels at the price prevailing at the time of the transaction.
There is no maximum purchase level, other than the limits imposed by the number of vacant or empty Blocks left.
Payment for Blocks must be paid in full at the time the Blocks are ordered, and Block spaces will not be reserved until such payment has been authorised or cleared by the appropriate Credit Card or Banking authority.
Allocation of Blocks for a specific position will be on a "First Come, First Served" basis, based on the date and time the payment was authorised and cleared, as per item 3 above. In this respect, payment by Credit Card is recommended as this will provide a timestamp of the exact time the payment was made.
In the event that your requested position has already been taken, your Ad will be located as near as possible to your originally requested position.

Your Ad image, Slogan, Business Summary and Linking Website must be suitable for inclusion on World-of-Pixels and must not contain any content which can be considered inappropriate, obscene, offensive or illegal. In particular, sites related to adult only material or sex are banned, as are those which encourage illegal or illicit activities of any nature. Any material failing to meet these requirements will be rejected, the block allocation will be refused, and any money paid will be refunded.
World-of-Pixels reserves the right to refuse any Ad application it considers unsuitable. In such an event all money paid will be refunded.
If an order has been accepted and, during the lifetime of the site, you subsequently change the content of the linking website (or business summary) to one that is considered unsuitable, your Ad and all references to your business will be deleted without warning and you will not be entitled to a refund.
Once your order has been accepted, you cannot change the Ad image, Slogan or the Linking Website, although consideration is being given to provide a facility for you to periodically change the business summary or sales message if required. Note that this will only have a bearing on your Directory listing and not your Ad on the home page.
You may request removal of your Ad and Directory listing at any time, but you will not be entitled to a refund of any money or fees paid. In such an event, the vacant space will become available for purchase.
Your Ad and Directory listing will remain in place for the lifetime of the site which is expected to be at least until October 2010, unless removed at your request (see item 11 above) or removed by World-of-Pixels because the content changed (see items 7, 8 & 9 above).

You are responsible for providing your Ad for the home page. It must be in JPG or GIF format and be the exact dimensions for the Ad space or Blocks ordered. To calculate your Ad size, multiply the number of Blocks ordered by 10. For example, 10 Blocks across by 1 Block high will require an image 100 pixels wide x 10 pixels high, whilst 10 Blocks across by 2 blocks high will require an image 100 pixels wide x 20 pixels high.
If you also want to display your business Logo in the Directory, it must not exceed 100 pixels wide or 60 pixels high, and should have a resolution of between 72 to 96 dpi. Your Logo must also be in JPG or GIF format.
Note that only static GIF images can be accepted, not animated GIFs.
You can send your Ad and Logo images using the Send Image form. The form also has a facility for you to provide a 400-character summary of your business (or sales/marketing message if you prefer) for inclusion within the Directory.
It is your responsibility to ensure you only use material or content that you are legally authorised to use and must not violate any copyrights or trade-marks. You must also have the authority to use and display the Linking Website. Any such infringement will result in the Ad and Directory listing being removed immediately and no refund will be given.
When you buy Blocks or pixels, this entitles you to have your Ad displayed on the World-of-Pixels home page and a FREE Directory listing (subject to compliance with these Terms in full), but does not confer any rights to you in respect of the ownership of the Ad space itself or any part of the World-of-Pixels website.
Your FREE business directory listing is conditional on you complying with all our Terms and Conditions and your Ad application being successful and all fees being paid in full.
You can buy Blocks using the Buy Pixels Order Form, which enables you to provide all the relevant information, including your Ad Starting Position, Total Blocks, Slogan & Linking Website Address.
Once you have made your selection and clicked the Add To Basket button, your order can be viewed by clicking the Basket/Checkout link at the top of this page (or left hand menu if you prefer). If you are satisfied with the contents of your shopping basket, please click the Checkout button on the basket page to complete your purchase on our secure server.
